Multichannel functional testing in normal subjects, glaucoma suspects, and glaucoma patients

2012

Purpose.: To evaluate visual function with a novel multichannel functional test named the ATD Multichannel Functional Test. Methods.: This multicenter study had a prospective and cross-sectional design. A total of 186 eyes were included: 42 with glaucoma, 14 glaucoma suspects due to optic nerve characteristics, 25 ocular hypertensives, and 105 normal eyes. All patients performed standard visual fields (Humphrey 24-2) and ATD with eight stimuli configurations: four achromatic (A), two red-green (T), and two blue-yellow (D). To derive main outcome measures, mean sensitivity, mean defect (MD), and pattern standard deviation (PSD) were calculated and compared among groups and types of stimuli w…

Regulatory T-Cells in Antitumor Therapy: Isolation and Functional Testing of CD4+CD25+ Regulatory T-Cel…

2004

Naturally occurring CD4+CD25+ T regulatory cells originate from the thymus and play a central role regarding the maintenance of peripheral tolerance by suppression of autoreactive T-cell populations. However, T regulatory cells can have beneficial as well as harmful effects. On the one hand, they prevent a variety of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases; but on the other hand, they concomitantly inhibit antitumor immune reactions by suppressing tumor-specific T-cell responses. Therefore, these ambivalent properties of T regulatory cells require detailed investigation especially with respect to a potential therapeutic exploitation of these cells. A prerequisite for such analyses is the isola…

The Influence of Fatigue on Throwing and YBT-UQ Performance in Male Adolescent Handball Players

2020

Purpose: The goal of the present study was to assess the effects of fatigue on throwing and Upper Quarter Y Balance Test (YBT-UQ) performance in male adolescent handball players. We hypothesized that throwing and YBT-UQ performance will be decreased in response to an upper-body fatigue-protocol.Method: All male participants (N = 24, age: 14.8 ± 0.7 yrs) were handball players of a regional youth selection team. A radar gun was used for the assessment of throwing velocity. The YBT-UQ was executed assessing medial, inferolateral and superolateral reach directions normalized to the upper limb length together with a composite score. Immediately following a fatigue protocol of different sets of p…

An Information Systems Design Product Theory for Integrated Requirements, Test and Defect Management Systems

2012

Software companies need to develop high-quality products fast and with low cost. Development activities are typically distributed in different places and involve multiple stakeholders in different countries. Testing is an important way to ensure product quality but it is costly and takes ample time and resources. Sourcing testing services from specialized service providers is often the most viable option for software businesses. Flexible and effective test process management is especially vital to support the testing life-cycle when external testing service providers are involved. Yet, the extant literature provides little theoretical guidance for managing the testing life-cycle, including …
